Wonderful Cruise!! by
A Traveler from Buffalo NY
Sailing date: Nov 2009 Pros:
Beautiful new ship and great food
Cons:
Having to leave!
Ship was new and beautiful in a whimsical way. Easy to get around.
Despite the size and the number of people on the ship, there were always quiet places to excape to and you could always find a chair near the pool or in the buffet restaurant.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Food in dining
Dinner in dining room was always beautifully presented and of very good quality. Great variety of menu items to choose from and the best desserts -- be sure to try the creme brulee and the melting chocolate cake.
The buffet restaurant offered many choices including a rotisseree and burrito bar, mongolian station and deli in addition to their daily menus.
Stateroom Quality Even though staterooms on cruise ships are never large, they are efficiently laid out with space for everything -- 2 closets, shelf space and drawer space.
Ship Staff Quality Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Entertainment & Activities Great variety !

Great vacation by
Alan R. from Fresno, Ca
Sailing date: Jul 2009 Pros:
ship was beautiful and service was excellent
Cons:
none
The ship was amazing. We have cruised many times, and wanted to cruise on a new ship. We were not disappointed at all. The rooms were beautiful. We had a balcony room, and it was very nice.
Ship Quality The ship was beautiful. Overall one of the nicest we have been on. (We have been on 15 cruises before)
Dining/Food Food was cruise food. Great the first three days, and by the end I just wanted some normal food.
Stateroom Quality Room was amazing. Larger than other balcony rooms we have had in the past.

Mazatlan, Mexico You can hire a taxi driver for 20 bucks to take you to the Gold district. Its the newer part of Mazatlan. You will see cliff divers on the way, as well as some great photo spots,
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Definatley worth taking a taxi for a tour around town. WE hired a driver for 40 bucks and he took up on an hour tour of city sites.
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Para-sailing and renting jet skis. Don't book the tours on the ship, as you will find the exact same tour on land for 50% less.

First Cruise by
Tara J. & Rey L. from Portland, OR
Sailing date: Apr 2009 Pros:
The food & the spa
Cons:
The dancers
The ship was excellent. Very clean.
Ship Quality Size was good, layout is good. Very clean. Very girly looking boat. I was shocked to see PINK everywhere. Don't get me wrong, I love the color pink. But not so much on a boat.
Dining/Food lots of options to choose from & great quality
Stateroom Quality Rooms were a great size & very well kept
Ship Staff Quality The staff was all very friendly.
Entertainment & Activities most of the activites were good. We didn't care for the dancers much, kind of boring. Some activies would run at the same time as other activites we wanted to do. So we missed out on some of those activites.
Children's Programs We don't have kids ourselves, but there were kids on the boat. We didn't actually see the kids that often, so I am assuming the Children's programs are fantastic.

Mazatlan, Mexico Due to the swine flu....we were not allowed to visit this port. I'm sure it's a great port, but I couldn't tell you from experience.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Due to the swine flu....we were not allowed to visit this port. I'm sure it's a great port, but I couldn't tell you from experience.
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Due to the swine flu....we were not allowed to visit this port. We did however dock at this port just to let someone off the boat due to an illness. So we did get some pictures of the Cabo beach, but we were not allowed to get off the boat to enjoy the beach.

Instead of the Mexican Riviera by
Bev P from San Diego, CA
Sailing date: May 2009 Pros:
The company we were with
Cons:
The rough seas and cold weather
We liked the ship - lots to do even though the weather was bad.
Ship Quality Size of the ship was huge - plenty of places to sit and relax. Of course, 1/3 of the passengers cancelled so we don't know what it would have been like with 1500 more people.
Dining/Food The main dining room was great for dinner - service was great, entertainment great and food really good. We didn't like the breakfast there at all and never tried lunch. The buffett was ok - sometimes had a good selection, but mostly pretty boring. The other places to eat were good.
Stateroom Quality Stateroom was large and convenient. A very irritating noise developed due to all the rough seas, but the maintenance staff fixed it right away.
Ship Staff Quality All the staff were great and friendly.
Entertainment & Activities Very enjoyable
Children's Programs Must be good - we didn't really ever notice any little ones.

Seattle, Washington Weather was very good, city transportation was great.
Don't Miss: Pike Street market
San Francisco, California Not our first visit here, but enjoyed the stop. The only problem was the docking location. We had a MUCH further walk than the other cruise ship passengers.
Victoria, British Columbia A beautiful city - but it rained the whole day.

We should have re-scheduled by
Kathy C from Colorado Springs, CO
Sailing date: May 2009 Pros:
Being with my family
Cons:
no sunshine!
The ship, Splendor with Carnival was beautiful. We had a balcony and the room was very large. Since this cruise was originally going to the Mexican Riviera we had been planning on warm sunny weather. When we found out they were not going to Mexico many people told us they were sure the ship would find warm waters to sail in until we had to port in the northern states. They did not. The temperature didnt get over 52 degrees and the sun was out 1 day. We were unable to reschedule the cruise because of vacation schedules, so we had to go on this one. We were also disappointed with some of the buffets. The best dinners were the sit down dinners in the dinning rooms. The ship was kept VERY clean - absolutely no complaints there.

Overall we had a wonderful time by
Matt L from Los Angeles, CA
Sailing date: Apr 2009 Pros:
free activities, dining
Cons:
kids activities
Beautiful new ship, wonderful dining rooms, and free activities were fun. We did not find the organized activities to our tastes, but many seemed to enjoy them. Our 8 and 10 year old boys thought that the "Camp Carnival" was only "fair". Overall we had an even better experience than we had expected, and definitely could see going again!
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Dining rooms were consistently excellent; the buffet could use a little more variety. The sushi bar had very limited hours and inadequate selection.
Stateroom Quality Clean and predictably small but not prohibitively so
Ship Staff Quality Some people were extemely friendly, others seem to show the effects of having to work several months with minimal earnings or time off (a typical problem in this industry, I suppose)
Entertainment & Activities The shows were a little cheesy, but the comedy acts were good

Lovely Cruise by
Pat J from Ocean Ridge, FL
Sailing date: Nov 2008 Pros:
Meeting new people - travelling to new locations
Cons:
Boarding line-ups
Service staff in all capacities were top notch. The only thing I'd like to see would be more information or maps specific to the destinations that do not include shopping venues.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food We enjoyed the variety of foods that were offered and the friendliness of staff in providing special requests.
Stateroom Quality Our steward took excellent care of us during our voyage.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities Then entertainment was terrific. We looked forward to attending the variety of entertainment offered each evening.
Collapse List of Ports
La Romana, Dominican Republic I would like to have had more information about the city of La Romana.
Nassau, Bahamas We enjoyed our visit to this island - very quaint traditions still exist.
San Juan, Puerto Rico We would have enjoyed more time in this port. Given the fact that we arrived at 5p.m. we didn't have much daylight in order to enjoy some of the sights of this Port of Call.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Magen's Beach - what a spectacular view!
