Fun on the [Seven] Seas by
Harold S. from Las Vegas, NV
Sailing date: Nov 2009 Pros:
Cost of cruise. Amount of different things to do EVERYDAY!
Cons:
Buffet food.
This was my 1st cruise and it was amazing. Great people. Great staff. I will def. cruise with Carnival again.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food The fine Dinning was amazing butthe buffet food was pretty lame.
Stateroom Quality I expected the room to be SUPER tiny but i was very suprised at how much space there really was. The decor was nice and welcoming. Bed was very comfy. Could use a TV upgrade tho.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities Comedy show was really funny.

i'd recommend a higher end cruise line by
maya s. from venice, ca
Sailing date: Oct 2009 Pros:
we enjoyed the couples we ate dinner with, the prices of drinks and the staff
Cons:
the food
the ship was fine-- kept very clean and the interior stateroom was more than manageable. the staff was excellent-- they were all very kind, knew our names, and went out of our way to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. the served dinner gets a 4 out of 5- the food was good and the options changed every night. the rest of the food on the ship was a 2 out of 5- we frequented the buffet which was always fried/greasy food (hamburgers, french fries, fried chicken, pizza), and sadly the salad bar was not left out all the time.

My First Cruise by
Shelby C. from Yuba City, CA
Sailing date: Aug 2009 Pros:
Catalina Island, very clean rooms, excellent food in the dining room
Cons:
ridiculously long lines; smoky, stagnant air; nickel-and-dimed to death; Ensenada
This was my first cruise, so I don't know if I am just not a "cruise lover", or if it was this particular ship. The staff was great, and our rooms were always very clean. The dining room food and customer service was excellent. But the lines to leave the ship were extremely long, and some of us felt claustrophobic waiting in the cramped hallways, breathing in the recirculated air. Also, while I expected to pay for alcoholic drinks, I was not prepared for the difficulty in getting non-alcoholic drinks. The waiters on the pool decks would not bring me an iced tea, so I had to walk across the ship and down the stairs to get my very tiny glass and fill it. I would also recommend bringing a power strip and extension cord, as there is literally only one plug in the stateroom.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food
Stateroom Quality Beds were very comfortable. Be sure to get a stateroom with a window, not a porthole, if you actually want to see the ocean.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities Comedians were very good, as was the singing/dancing production, "Shout!" It would have been nice if the shows had started earlier. Many of the good ones didn't begin until midnight!

Best vacation I've had in a long time!! by
Kim O from Utah
Sailing date: Feb 2009 Pros:
I loved the fact that I could truly relax.
Cons:
ICigarette Smoke
This was my first cruise. We arrived on time to the terminal and the entire check-in process went very smoothly. We arrived to our stateroom which was exactly as expected, and even though the bathroom is small, it could have been much worse! The service on this ship was absolutely wonderful!!! I have nothing to say that would reflect poorly upon this ship and it's crew. The service was top of the line..and I can say that being completely honest. It was a wonderful experience. The only downside was the cigarette smoking. The only time this became an issue was when we were waiting to be seated for dinner. Outside of the dining room is a bar in which people are allowed to smoke. The smoke in that area was overpowering. I would absolutely go again. The day at Catalina Island was great,. We didn't do an excursion in Catalina, but we did rent a golf cart, which was well worth it. We were able to tour the whole side of the island on our own clock. In Ensenada (not too crazy about) we did the Scenic Gold Coast Tour. Carnival's description of that tour did it no justice, it was wonderful! We were able to go to a resort that's situated on the beach. Our tour guide was great and we stopped at several locations that weren't even listed in the description. It was even better than I thought it would be!! I highly recommend this to anyone looking to be treated like gold and have a true break from day-to-day life! Bring your walking shoes for the ship!
Ship Quality There's no way to get away without having to do a lot of walking on the ship, so be prepared! It's good exercise anyway, since the food is so plentiful.
Dining/Food The food was wonderful. It's always available...at least it seemed like it was always available.
Stateroom Quality The stateroom is good for what it's intended...to sleep! There's enough space, the housekeepers did an amazing job, and were incredibly friendly!
Ship Staff Quality There is not a single complaint that I could make regarding the ship staff. They truly do go above and beyond. They work so incredibly hard and are so cheerful. It was a nice change!!!
Entertainment & Activities We were able to enjoy a couple of shows on board...one thing I would say, is that I really don't think that it was all very appropriate for little children. I didn't take my kids on this cruise, and I actually don't think I would because of the smoking (asthma) and for my kids and I we go on more nature-intensive vacations. For me though, this was the absolute perfect vacation.

Ensenada, Mexico We did the Scenic Gold Coast Tour and it was entirely worth it! After our tour, we did a little shopping in downtown, which was pretty dirty and it was not really that enjoyable to me. There were a lot of places to get really inexpensive massages and manicures/pedicures...I do wish that I would have taken advantage of those!!
Catalina Island, California I highly recommend renting a golf cart. We got off the ship pretty early and were able to get an early-bird special, it was $40/hour for the golf cart rental and if you rented two hours the third was free. We actually used about two and a half hours and it was completely worth it! We went to the botanical gardens (not that impressive) and took the scenic tour of the city. We got lots of great pictures and best of all, we toured at our own pace. A fellow passenger said she did the beginning scuba excursion with her husband. She is already scuba certified and he was not. She did not recommend that excursion. It's a beautiful place to walk around and visit the small shops and just enjoy the water.

A Great Time by
Helen S. from Santa Maria, CA
Sailing date: Feb 2009 Pros:
Good food, Great company, excellent value for the money.
Cons:
There are no cons.
First was the cost. Traveling during the off Mos. was a great value. You can't find a Hotel that would provide all that is included in this cruise. Great dining experience, fun entertainment, meeting wonderful people, it just doesn't get better. The staff is so friendly!
Ship Quality The crew was constantly cleaning. It can't be easy keeping up with 2000+ people.
Dining/Food Lobster night was great! The Prime Rib was perfect. For our group the early dining was the best.
Stateroom Quality For the small price that we paid I cannot kick about the size. It was fine for what we needed. Just a place to sleep and shower. The bed was very comfortable.
Ship Staff Quality The staff is very friendly. Smiles everywhere. If we could not find our way there was always someone to help us out.
Entertainment & Activities The shows were a lot of fun. I can tell that they worked very hard to put on their show.
Collapse List of Ports
Ensenada, Mexico I guess the must see is the shops. The blowhole is a waste of time. The only good thing was the beautiful water. It was Scenic. The Blowhole itself was a disappointment.
Don't Miss: Shopping
Catalina Island, California For our group the must see was the botanical Gardens. Another nice one is the trip up to the airport. There is lots of wildlife and not to hard on a person.

Fun Carnival Cruise by
Sarah P from Healdsburg, CA
Sailing date: Jan 2009 Pros:
Being on vacation, having fun, meeting people.
I had a great time. This is the second time I have been on a Carnival cruise and it was fun and relaxing, yet exciting! The staff was very friendly and helpful and it is fun to dress up at night for the formal dinners. I can't wait to go again.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food I only wish the cocktails were free too!
Stateroom Quality The rooms very comfortable and cleaned twice a day. I only wish it was a little bigger, but I guess you can pay more and get a bigger one!
Ship Staff Quality Our table servers at dinner were funny and very nice and our room steward was great too.

A nice getaway... by
A Traveler from Yakima, WA
Sailing date: Nov 2008 Pros:
great service and layout of room; terrific comedians
Cons:
staff dancers and singers; buffet food
The ship is older, but it was a smooth and quiet ride.
Ship Quality Ship size and layout was just right. Staff worked hard to maintain cleanliness, but some carpet in main areas (especially the stairs) could use replacement due to overuse and staining.
Dining/Food It would have been nice to have a specialty restaurant. The buffet lacked quality and variety. Most dishes in the main dining room were very good, but don't even think about trying the low-cal pumpkin pie--yuck!
Stateroom Quality Good size room (especially for an interior) and a very comfortable bed.
Ship Staff Quality Amazing staff--everyone!
Entertainment & Activities The Carnival dancers were average and the singers were below average. One of the bands (in the Queen Mary Lounge) was horrible. The two comedians brought on board were hillarious, however.

Ensenada, Mexico The bus broke down on the way up the mountain to the Mexicqan Fiesta. It was quite frightening, with brakes slippling as we backed down. They did send a shuttle, but the bus was clearly not in good repair.
