A great cruise by
A Traveler from currently traveling around no home base
Sailing date: Oct 2009 Pros:
Price and Ship
Cons:
Ocho Rios Jamaica
Embarkation in Miami was quick and basically painless. We booked at the last minute and had our first ever inside stateroom. I will probably never go back to a window room again. I got so much good sleep in the almost total darkness. This was our 7th cruise our 4th with carnival.
The food was as expected you could always find something to eat. We especially liked having the burrito bar as an alternative at lunch. We never did get to have a pizza as we were never hungry enough to order one..
This was our first ship with an outside big screen and we enjoyed watching the movies in the evening while chilling out on deck.
We did miss the Captains welcome aboard party but they still have the past guest party so we thought it evened out. They now have a farewell party which is not as well advertised and in a much smaller venue but the Captain did come by for pictures. The chocolate buffet at lunch did not have the elaborate desserts as in years past but there was plenty of fattening stuff to choose from!!
Overall the ship was kept quite clean and the staff were all very freindly.
We would sail on the Liberty again and are already planning our next cruise
Good work carnival!!!
Ship Quality This ship has a great layout. fairly easy to memorize and getting around was easy
Dining/Food I can always find something I like on the ship. I am not expecting 5 star foodjust 5 star service and the Liberty had that in spades
Stateroom Quality This was our 7th cruise and we had the best room steward to date. Awesome service he kept our room very nice and always kept our Ice Bucket full. We gave him an extra tip for extrodinary service above and beyond. It amazes me when they greet you by name starting on the first morning
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities Always an activity going on and they do a good job. We lived in Vegas for a lot of years so we think the shows are pretty cheesy but the comic and the hypnotist show wer definetly A+

Western Carribean Cruise by
Annie Z from Farr West, UT
Sailing date: Sep 2009 Pros:
Loved the boat, the atmosphere, the ports and the cruise director
Cons:
The wait staff was not very personable and did not respond to requests
The ship was nice and most of the staff was great. The wait staff just didn't seem to understand our requests and would often just forget items we had ordered. The beds were a little uncomfy, but the food was great and we had a great time!

Overall great experience by
A Traveler from Miami
Sailing date: Jan 2009 Pros:
Spacious cabins
Cons:
Paying insane prices for soft drinks
The ship has a variety of activities for all ages and interests. The crew were always helpful and friendly. The shows were also nice.
The only real con of the trip was pay over $2 for a 12 ounce soda on the ship. You could buy a soda card for about $5 per day so save some $.

Disaster at Sea by
Michael B. from Rehoboth Beach, DE
Sailing date: Dec 2008 Pros:
The only pro was the Caribbean Ocean
Cons:
The schedule for air travel was ridiculous! Be sure to check lay-over times. I spent 2 whole days traveling to and from my destinations each in excess of 12 hours! I had 1 lay-over of 5 hours!
Ship was clean. Not smoke-free, food sucked except for Harry's supper Club ($30 fee). They charge $2 for a soda, and try to nickle and dime you tyo death!

A great getaway! by
Jackie H. from Hatboro, PA
Sailing date: Sep 2008 Pros:
The shows and the food
Cons:
Ship was extremely crowded
The ship was very impressive in its size and features. The deckside theater was really nice. I agree with others that it was a little confusing getting around.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Harry's Supper club is a must do. Yes you do have to pay extra but it was really worth it. We made a reservation for our anniversary night. The only thing that is negative about the dining is that if you are a couple you will be seated with other passengers. It wouldn't have been so bad if we were at a big table with a lot of other people but it was just us and another couple which was a little awkward at first.
Stateroom Quality Our inside cabin was very small and got more cramped as we brought bags of souvenirs in. We were lucky that we had picked "Inside guaranteed" as we received an upgrade to deck 8! I gave them a good rating though because our room steward was very good and the beds are so amazingly comfortable!
Ship Staff Quality This is my second sailing on a Carnival cruise. I am starting to learn that impeccable service is standard with this cruise line. The staff is friendly and super accomadating. You feel like you are the first person who's ever sailed with them. 1st class service in the dining room.
Entertainment & Activities The shows are amazing! Comedian Happy Cole was hysterical!!! Schedules were such that no matter what dinner seating you could still make it to the shows.
Collapse List of Ports
Cozumel, Mexico Discover Mexico was really nice if you are into historical type things. The tour was extremely thourough and made us want to visit more of Mexico. The shopping is great!
George Town, Grand Cayman We did Boatswain's Beach and Adventure Marine Park. The turtle farm was cool and we got to witness a shark feeding. There isn't as much to see there as we thought though. They said you could snorkle in the lagoon there but there weren't any fish or anything in the lagoon as far as we could tell.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica This was our favorite port! Jamaica is gorgeous. We went to Shaw Park Gardens which is a beautiful rain forest with unique plant life and beautiful falls. We also climbed Dunn's River Falls which was awesome but really scary! I don't think I'd have the guts to do it again. Bad part is the Jamaicans expect tips for everything!
Don't Miss: Shaw park gardens and Dunn's River falls

Great Cruise! by
Crystal H. from Fort Wayne, IN
Sailing date: May 2008 Pros:
The service, activities, and amenities on the ship were excellent.
Cons:
The ports of call were not my favorite in the Caribbean. I prefer the Southern Caribbean.
The food was very good, and the shows were wonderful! We recommend participation in the ship's activities, but we would try different shore excursions next time. The ATV Beach Adventure in Cozumel was pretty rough and dirty, the shore snorkeling in Grand Cayman wasn't the best on the island, and the Bamboo Beach Club in Jamaica was too close to the port.

Cozumel, Mexico Don't bother with the shopping or the ATV Beach Adventure.
George Town, Grand Cayman The shops were okay and the shore snorkeling was decent, but Seven Mile beach is better.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica The Bamboo Beach Club was fun for hanging out and relaxing, but it was close to the port. The swimming area was small and had sea grass at the bottom.

A beautiful honeymoon by
Maria T from WASHINGTON DC
Sailing date: Jun 2008 Pros:
I like that there was so many activities and the staff was so friendly my stewardess was the best I have ever deal with in my life.
Cons:
I didn't like that they didn't offer turkey burgers or turkey sausage or bacon on the buffet. Everyone do not eat beef and pork.
The Liberty was a great ship we went for our honeymoon and we had a great time. The alcoholic beverages were at a decent price and the staff was so friendly it was like it was a dream come true. I love our stewardess and she made sure that all of our needs were meet. I would recommend this ship to anyone. We went to Cozumel, Mexico, Ocho Rios, Jamaica and Cayman Island. The ship was great.
Ship Quality The ship was always clean and always exceeded my expectations.
Dining/Food The food overall was great one of my complaints was that they only offered hamburgers and not turkey burgers and pork bacon and sausage instead of turkey products. I think Carnival should realize that there are alot of people that do not eat beef and pork so they should take that into consideration.
Stateroom Quality The stateroom was an inside stateroom but it was very nice and comfortable and the stewadess was exceptional.
Ship Staff Quality This was the best staff that I have encounter. They were always friendly and kept a smile on their face and always wanted to make you happy.
Entertainment & Activities Entertainment was nice and there was always something for you to do. It was never a dull moment.

Cozumel, Mexico The beach cost 15 dollars I think that it should have been free for the people that were on the cruise
George Town, Grand Cayman Grand Cayman was nice and the beach was beautiful.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica Dunns Rivers Fall was great. The people hassle you and are very aggressive.I dont recommend kids go here
