Wonderful Cruise by Mona W. from Richmond,Va
Sailing date: Sep 2008

Pros:
Dinner in Golden Fleece, large balcony

Cons:
Boat rocked a little

This was my first cruise and my husband's fourth. We had an extended balcony room on Verandah deck. The room had lots of closet space and enough room to be comfortable. The balcony was great! We would stand out there in the mornings and even late at night watching the moonlight on the Carribean sea. The food in the main dining room, Truffles, was very good at dinner. Service was attentive and provided dinner entertainment. We had lunch once there and it was ok, not great. Breakfast was pretty good there. We ate at the Supper Club, Golden Fleece, and food was high-end. I had sushi that was the best I had ever had, also lamb for my main course. My husband's steak was cooked med rare as requested and very tender. Entertainment was a couple that performed romantic style music and there was dancing. Ports were interesting. We went to Altun Ha in Belize, a large Mayan site.It was worth the money. Also, went to a beach in Roatan, very nice setup there.Beautiful island. We loved the casino, Satchmo's, and the piano bar in the lobby. The decor of the ship was Greek mythology and was awesome. Drinks are high, but Carnival lets you bring a bottle of wine each for Bon Voyage, so we had something to drink in our room.We had wine with dinner one night and it was about $24 a bottle, what you would pay in any restaurant.

Honeymoon by Laura L from Greenville, SC
Sailing date: Sep 2008

Pros:
we really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the rooms.

Cons:
Alcohol tended to be rather pricey.

The ship was very clean and the staff very welcoming. Make sure to bring a good amount of money if you expect to drink alcohol on board.

Terrific cruise! by A Traveler from Kentucky Bluegrass
Sailing date: Apr 2008

Pros:
Food and food service was excellent!

Cons:
Smoking areas-especially in the casino.

I hadn't cruised on Carnival before, but was very impressed with the Legend. All amenities imaginable were available. The food and food service were very good-better than I had expected. Getting everyone on and off the ship was handled very efficiently-quite a feat considering the size of the boat! The ship was beautifully decorated and kept spotless by a tireless crew. There were quite a number of children on board, but Camp Carnival kept them occupied and happy-great for those of us traveling without children! I would definitely take another Carnival cruise!

"The vacation of a lifetime" by Sue S. from Huntsville, AL.
Sailing date: Jul 2007

Pros:
Everything, being with my family and the excellent service on the ship

Cons:
It was minimal but the rocking of the boat

The crew was the best. Everyone was accomodating. I did not encounter one rude person. Our cabin stewart and dining attendants were wonderful. The ship was clean. We did have some money loss in the laundry ($5) due to broken equipment and empty detergent, but this was so minor compared to the overall experience. Thanks, The Schumann's

Better than expected! by Merrill S from Atlanta, GA
Sailing date: Apr 2007

Pros:
Getting on, and problem finding lounge chairs.

Cons:
Getting off.

Ship was clean and so were the rooms. Most of crew from eastern europe, they were courtieous and friendly. Food was as good if not better than other lines. Entertainment was just fair. If not for 2 comedians it would have been terrible.

My first cruise and I'm hooked by Desi C. from Chicago, IL
Sailing date: Apr 2007

Pros:
The atmosphere, the food, and the crew.

Cons:
Bad weather the first day, and my sunburn.

The ship was quite impressive. There were many lounges and activities to keep you busy the whole trip. The crew was very friendly and would go out of their way to make you feel at ease.Do not miss the live band at Satchmo's. They are very good and can play anything. One of the best renditions of "Freebird" that I've ever seen.

Truffles served up some great menus. I ate more seafood in one week, than I do all year. The 24 hour pizza station came in handy a few times also. Great burgers by the poolside. Room service is faster than anywhere I've ever been.

First Carnival Legend to Eastern Caribbe by Ana R. from Blacksburg, VA
Sailing date: Sep 2006

Pros:
Spacious room, delicious food, many pools and music on deck

Cons:
Sodas and bottled water expensive

I travelled with my best friend. We were gladly surprised to find our room much spacious and comfortable that what we had envision. The balcony was the room's highligh . We could sit and watch sunrises and sunsets, have breakfast/lunch, read or just relax in the balcony. Some balcony rooms have obstructed views by the boats the vessel carries, make sure you do not choose one of those if being able to enjoy the views is one of your priorities. Food was delicious. Really, really good. They have a chef on board and he makes sure everything is made with good quality products. For lunch you could have a taste of nations, since they had chinese, mexican, american (burgers and pizzas), etc. specialties, and you could eat as much as you wanted from each. Desserts selections were delicous as well!. The dinning menu was different each night and you could choose from a selection of 4 or 5 options (vegetarian and low carbs options as well). The presentation of the food in the dishes was excellent, as well as the taste of it! Unless you state otherwise (which most of the people don't), they assign you a dinning table that you will share for the rest of the cruise with the same people. Someone has already made sure that all the guests assigned to your same table are of smiliar age, similar income and similar social status (singles, old couples, young couples, etc.). However, guests are not obligated to have dinner at the restauran, they can go to the buffet area where they can sit wherever they want and eat whatever they want. There were about 4 small swimming-pools with as many whirlpools on the top outside decks, and many long chairs to lay down and read or let the sun give you a nice tan. There was always something you could do as they have a team in charge of planning activities for the guests: hairy chest competition, survivor, talent show, 30-minuts belly dancing lesson, etc. There is a nice gym with about 15 machines and whirlpool, two ping-pong tables (they provide the rackets and ball for free), etc. They even have a gambling area with machines and pocker tables. At nights they had comedy shows, disco, piano bar, cruise show, etc. But everything finished by 2 am pretty much. The staff cleans and does maintenance work on the ship constantly, so the ship is always clean and in good conditions. We loved the 24-hour self-service soft ice-cream and we repeated many times. They recommend 10 dollars per day per person for gratuities that includes gratuity for all the services that you may be getting during the day. You can open a tap the first day of the cruise, and you can charge everything there. You can check your balance and charges on the room's TV, and that is very convenient. Additonal expenses: sodas and bottled water, and they ask for/recommend an extra tip for the chef, for your room's steward, and for the cruise director the last day of the cruise. Most of the guests were older couples, couples on honeymoon, families, and a few groups of friends. Very few singles.

welcome to the money pit by Gerre M from niles,OH
Sailing date: Sep 2006

Pros:
cabin steward and dinner waiter were the greatest, went out of thier way to satisfy

Cons:
all other staff seem preoccupied only to sell you somthing, and if you needed something there was no one around.

cruise was supposed to leave around 4 but left at midnight. was paid a 20 dollar fee for the itinerary change but, the cruise line did not seem to care. general feeling was that they were allways trying to sell you something.many activities started late. holdem tables had no airconditioning so were hot at peak times. would not hold a holdem tourney even though players wanted it. beverage service at poker table was slow at best, another player requested coffee at around 11:00 pm and was told he had to go to deck 9 if he wanted coffee(7 decks away). loved grand turk but the area around the dock was a tourist trap(beautiful) but pricey. found local establishment across from the dive shops good service, price , food, snorkeling........ take a taxi you wont be dissappointed. st thomas was beautiful. again tourist trap at dock dont pay full price for anything. local told us that cruise line gets a cut on most goods and services sold so be wary when they tell you of the great deals..... time at san juan was too long time at st thomas and grand turk was too short.

the food was great. the only reason i gave it a good rating was that on the night of the midnight buffet, we waited in line for 40 min. and when we finally got to the buffett there were only scraps left, and there was still a line out the door. there was not near enough food for the amount of people there. staff did not seem to care about this and offered no explanation.

BOB underwater adventure at st thomas is a must, even at the price. staff was friendly, boat was nice, and snorkeling while waiting was wonderfull (10). activities seemed over priced, we chose to do things on our own with the help of the internet and reviews had a wonderful time. saved bucks too. I dont mind spending money on quality but i refuse to give it away for lack of a better choice. you do have choices you just have to look for them. pool at the sheraton in san juan (9th floor) was wonderful(wife) so was the casino(me) lol
