Pleasantly Enjoyable by
Cory Mac from Terrace, BC
Sailing date: Sep 2009 Pros:
Crew were great...excellent service.
Cons:
Food overcooked and not desired temperature.
I was quite impressed by the ship as I was expecting an old dingy vessel since it was an older ship. Would have liked a couple of specialty restaurants.
Ship Quality Wonderful crew make this possible.
Dining/Food Food overcooked and never served at a desired temperature.
Stateroom Quality A little dated but quite comfortable. Would recommend getting a balcony.
Ship Staff Quality They were unbelieveable. Always a smile and pleasant greeting.
Entertainment & Activities Great evening shows in the theatre. Dancers were amazing.

A fabulous trip by

Sailing date: May 2009 Pros:
Carnival Staff
Cons:
Turks and Caicos
The Carnival Destiny was amazing. The staff was terrific and every single staff member smiled and always helped out. The food was amazing, there is no shortage of that on this ship. The ship was very clean, and cabin was always prepared for us at all times. I would recommend this ship to anyone who has never cruised before and Carnival as the cruise company. Carnival truly stands behind there name as the Fun Ship. You will have lots of fun.

A fun time by
A Traveler from Coldwater, Mich.
Sailing date: Apr 2009 Pros:
service, food, staff entertainment, clean
Cons:
adult comedians
We had a fun time on the Carnival Destiny Ship. The ship was clean and orderly. Getting on and off the ship went very smoothly. The staff was wonderful and the food was good. The staff entertainment was very good but would have liked more variety with the entertainment. The adult comedians were very disappointing.

Not-So-Fun-Ship by
Lori P. from Albany, OR
Sailing date: Mar 2009 Pros:
The Galaxy Dining Room Staff
Cons:
Carnival's Customer Service
Bed Bugs! Both my husband and I were bit but I had a severe reaction. Swelling, redness, and each bite becoming large abcesses. Trips to the infirmary every day. I was given a Benadryl in the pill form and by a shot to the backside. In the days following, Penicillan and Prednesone were added with the warning that an IV may become necessary if there was no improvement. Yes... we were moved to another room. I slept most of the trip and when I wasn't sleeping I was a walking zombie. I don't remember the excursions and my husband avereaged 3 hours of sleep a night because of worry at how badly my arm was reacting to the bites.
Carnival's Customer Service? A refund of 1/5 for our stay for one occupant ($66.00), 15% off our next cruise and a "Have a Nice Day". An apology was "obviously" not necessary in their eyes.
Ship Quality Large ship. Outdated decor but well taken care of.
Dining/Food Dining room was great but elsewhere was just OK. Best desserts were in the coffee shop but of course weren't free.
Stateroom Quality Bed Bugs... need I say more?
Ship Staff Quality Dining room staff excellent. Info desk and management below average - uncooperative and completely without compassion. Bartenders horrible - if you're not ordering alcohol, expect to be ignored,
Entertainment & Activities While I was in a drug-induced fog - I heard the shows were good.

ship was old and boring by
LaTusha S from Baltimore MD
Sailing date: Jan 2009 Pros:
the food in the main seating was good
Cons:
not enough to do on board
This was my first cruise and I was highly disappointed. The ship's interior was outdated and looked like something from the 70's. There wasn't enough onboard entertainment. The shows were boring and not diverse enough. Every time I laid out by the pool someone starting smoking.
Ship Quality The bathrooms were always clean
Dining/Food Main seating food was good. Buffet's food was always lukewarm.

Great Time! by
Yvette M. from Hartford, CT
Sailing date: Oct 2008 Pros:
Food and People
Cons:
Wish I could have stayed on boat longer
Carnival Destiny is a family oriented cruise ship. I cruised 10/25/08 and saw all ages from babies to senior citizens. I enjoyed the laughter and lots of entertainment. The weather was very good inspite of it being the end of hurricane season......actually that is the cheapest time of the season to go!! Most of all the food was really great. I must say that the people who work on the cruise ship go out of their way to make sure that you are well accommodated and that was a plus for me!! I will definitely cruise again with Carnival.
Thanks again Carnival!

Not the best cruise I've been on by
Yoruba R. from Upper Darby, PA
Sailing date: Aug 2008 Pros:
The dining was great, the ports of call were good
Cons:
Never get an oceanview room if they say it has obstructed views the truth is it has no view of the ocean at all
We recently sailed on the Carnival Destiny and it was a fun ship just not for adults this was our second cruise with Carnival Destiny and this time it was filled with kids that were not being watched by anyone. There are no lifeguards on board the Carnival Destiny so if you have children make sure an adult stays near by just in case something occurs. This time around the shows were cancelled at the last minute but they improvised by doing game shows using the audience.

Dining/Food Each night if you choose sit down dining the waiters put on a show for you. They do a great job.

some information wasn't specified and could be pricey depending on budget
It was a wonderful experience. would be nice if the intercom was announced in the staterooms so we could hear anything going on most time at night we would walk around the ship then relax in our stateroom.
